“In Passing EP”, the debut release from neo-classical/electronic producers Cyrus Reynolds and Steve Gibbs is the result of the warm-hearted response brought about by their work together on the title track, “In Passing” in 2011.
Their collaboration was born from a mutual appreciation of the accidental; the sounds that instruments, microphones and tape emit - between the notes - which are typically undesired in modern music production. This passion for authenticity and imperfection is an ethos which can be heard throughout the EP, independently released by the duo in early July 2013.
The EP also features the composers’ successful first foray into the world of film, with a soundtrack for French director David Dang’s new film, “Where Am I”. (vimeo.com/62582385

"Filled with warmth and drenched with goodness, it takes me back to that calm morning years ago when I first felt the true connection between the sea and music. I am not sure that’s what Gibbs and Reynolds had in mind when constructing this little gem, but isn’t that what wonderful music does? Transports you to places deep in the mind."
- Fluid Radio
"In Passing is instrumentally lush and genuinely emotive; it may only be an EP, but it makes a lovely introduction to the work of this up-and-coming pair."
- A Closer Listen
“Elements of ambient, electronica, and modern classical are all blended together seamlessly in well crafted arrangements with a sweet melancholic undercurrent.”
- Stationary Travels
"Imperfection is one of its distinct features. But what could be a weakness in other places appears as a strength here. All those designed defects give the work a warm, human feel which surrounds the listener."
“If you love modern classical, I strongly suggest to check the debut EP from Steve Gibbs and Cyrus Reynolds "In Passing".
- Fabrizio Paterlini
"Simply put, a beautiful collection of songs that just grip you all the way. I will dance and shout on the rooftops about it until I’m in my grave."
